Clean water is very scarce where we work in the Central Dodoma Region of Tanzania. Many Tanzanians have no option but to use surface water which is heavily contaminated with bacteria, human waste and even shared with animals. This leads to diseases affecting many of the people.
Many years ago kids4school embarked on a water programme to build rainwater storage tanks at the schools which provide clean, safe drinking water.
Many donors and church groups have participated in this programme and over twenty have been built and many more ready to be built. The number is increasing all the time and we are so grateful for the generosity of our faithful supporters.
The more tanks we can build the more rain water can be collected and this in turn ensures hundreds of children now have access to safe drinking water.
